The success of Nick Cooke's Houschka, Chevin and Nubian families has inadvertently relegated the fabulous Sovereign typeface to "hidden gem' status but we're predicting big things for it in 2006. Sovereign has a clever and unique twist, serif caps mixed with semi-serif lower case, prompting Creative Review to describe it as "exuding classical formality with a calligraphic sensitivity". The family comprises 14 weights, Light to Black with true italics of each and is suitable for text and headline usage. View and buy Sovereign here
