The typeface Frutiger® was designed in the 1970s by Adrian Frutiger for the signage system of the Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris and is one of the typeface classics of the 20th century. Since its creation, it has set the standards in legibility in both display and text applications. The new Linotype Frutiger™ Next has been completely reworked by Adrian Frutiger and Linotype to produce a complementary system of 18 weights including true italic characters. Each weight is designed to combine perfectly with one another as well as offer a variety of possibilities for combinations with other typefaces.
Frutiger is a trademark of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG, which may be registered in certain jurisdictions, exclusively licensed through Linotype GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG.
